The historic waterway celebrated its bicentenary with a host of festivals and arts projects. Among many other events, it launched a coast to coast canoe trail, commissioned a new choral symphony and renovated 127 mile markers along its length. In this special celebratory podcast, our host David Bramwell explores waterways in the heart of Liverpool, with the help of journalist and tour guide, Aidan O’Rourke, and Ron Hutchinson, chairman of Mersey Motorboat Club. The podcast also features the first in a series of weird and wonderful watery facts presented by Sheffield’s very own John Shuttleworth.
Waterfront podcast celebrates the work of the Canal & River Trust, explores the stories behind some of our iconic stretches of water and meets fascinating people who live, work and play beside our waterways. Subscribe to Waterfront on iTunes so you don’t miss the next episode.
